Where in the World are the Boyers? : Eating Our Way Through Siem Reap

We found some wonderful coffee shops and restaurants in the city. We also visited the night market and tried rolled ice cream for the first time. Dave was pumped to try durian, a very stinky fruit that we were promised was sweet and delicious, despite its smell. It is NOT. One of our favorite restaurants was The Kitchen, which was walking distance from our hotel and had a variety of Khmer and western food. Josh loved beef lok lak (traditional Cambodian dish) and the littles could eat both spring rolls and pepperoni pizza. The owner was so kind and even changed one of the TVs to Tom and Jerry for Annabelle and Liam. The Cambodian people are very warm, friendly and accommodating. I’m sure partly that’s because it’s a huge tourist area, but they created a welcoming environment. Anyway, here is a ton of delicious food pictures…

Here are a few random non food things I wanted to include in the last post of Cambodia. The boys were in desperate need of haircuts and Dave found a cool place of young trendy guys that cut their hair. Liam fell asleep in the chair so the barber did the best he could, but Caleb and Josh both got cuts and styles they liked.

On Sunday we visited with the Siem Reap Church of Christ. We visited them back in 2008 and it was so encouraging to see how much it has grown. Dave got to share communion which was really special and there’s something so powerful worshiping in another language. It just reminds me how big God and his kingdom really is.
