Kuang Si Waterfalls

Breakfast at Villa Oasis before we head out for the day. The pond in the middle of the villas was beautiful and I loved that we got to see the lotus flowers open. They open at night and close during the day, but you can sometimes see them in the morning.

On the way to the falls we walked through this bear sanctuary for the Asiatic black bear and Sun Bear. We saw about 8 bears that had been rescued from the illegal animal trade. Next we arrived at the base of falls. There were pools where you could swim or you could continue hiking to more falls. The water was a bright turquoise because of the limestone in the rocks.

Elise and Ruby went to swim while the crazy Boyer crew continued the steep, slippery path (I’m being generous calling it a path) to the top of the falls.

We all climbed up to lay in the rushing falls. It was a wild experience!

It was an awesome time swimming and hiking the falls!
