Saibadee! That means hello in Laos. We woke up early for an 8am train. There was beautiful mountain scenery on the 2.5 hour ride into northern Laos and then a short drive to a gorgeous resort called Nam Kat Yorla Pa. It’s a protected forestry area along Nam Kat River. The pictures do not do it justice. There are so many unique flowers, butterflies, lizards and insects here. It is lush and green. It looks like a tropical rainforest out our hotel window.
Dave, Kate, and Liam’s room
The spectacular view from my bed
Caleb and Josh’s room. We’ve spent most of our family vacations camping or in AirBnBs, so Caleb was impressed and said this is the nicest place we’ve ever stayed.
I loved these plants, they feel like lamb’s ear, but look like a cross between a lily pad and a succulent.
Lunch at the hotel…the pad Thai (hidden under the eggs) and green curry were delicious!
We had a blast at the beautiful pool! To say it is hot and humid is an understatement (and that’s coming from someone who lives in FL), so it was really refreshing to swim.
